12 Long-Billed Vultures Brought To Nandankanan

Bhubaneswar: To conserve endangered species, 12-long-billed vultures have been brought to Nandankanan Zoological Park in Odisha capital from Gandhi Zoological Park in Gwalior on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the Central Zoo Authority had given permission earlier to send the vultures from Gwalior to the Vulture Conservation Breeding Programme at Nandankanan. The vultures were released into the enclosure in the zoo last night.

The health condition of all the vultures are stable and sex identification of the vultures will be done soon. They will be sent to the Odisha Veterinary College for this purpose, the sources added.
