AP Leaders Murder: Dreaded Maoist Held In Korput, To Be Handed Over To NIA

Koraput: Koraput police on Friday morning arrested a dreaded Maoist, a prime suspect in the brutal murder of the two leaders of Andhra Pradesh at Araku valley in September last year.

As informed by Koraput SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh, the arrested cadre Dambaru Khila, an active member of the Nandapur Area Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), was arrested from his native village Kodikhal under Chatua panchayat in the area bordering Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

“We will produce him in the local court here and later hand him over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA),” Singh added.

He, however, did not reveal the details about the modus operandi of the militia.

Notably, the NIA, in course of the investigation, had come to know about the involvement of Dambaru in the murder of sitting Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA of Araku constituency Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former TDP MLA of the same constituency Siveri Soma on September 23 last year.

In this connection, the NIA team had camped in Koraput district and visited Nandapur, Padua, Chatua and Jajaput areas in search of Dambaru.
