AP Leaders’ Murder: NIA Takes Maoist Dambaru On 3-Day Remand

Koraput: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday took Dambaru Khila, a hardcore Maoist, on a three-day transit remand in connection with the brutal murder of two leaders of Andhra Pradesh in Araku valley area in September last year.

The NIA team took Dambaru to Hyderabad after the Koraput police produced him in the SDJM court.

As informed by SP (Koraput) Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh, Dambaru Khila, an active member of the Nandapur Area Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), was arrested from his native village Kodikhal under Chatua panchayat, bordering Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

He, however, did not reveal the details about the modus operandi of the cadre.

Notably, the NIA, in course of the investigation, had come to know about the involvement of Dambaru in the murder of sitting Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA of Araku constituency Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former TDP MLA of the same constituency Siveri Soma on September 23 last year.

In this connection, the NIA team had camped in Koraput district and visited Nandapur, Padua, Chatua and Jajaput to trace the whereabouts of Dambaru.
