BJD to launch Ama Gaon Ama Vikash programme on July 1

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its bid to connect with the rural masses ahead of the 2019 elections, the ruling BJD will launch its ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Vikash (our village, our development)’ programme on July 1, said on chief minister Naveen Patnaik here on Saturday.

Addressing a preparatory meeting for the BJD government’s third anniversary of its fourth term, the CM said, “Ahead of the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikash’ programme, all ministers and observers will visit the rural areas and organise meetings there from May 24 to June 30 and highlight several public welfare schemes of the government.”

Stating that the government is committed towards protecting the state’s interest, Naveen said people of Odisha have made the BJD more powerful because the party believes in work, not in words.

Speaking on the occasion, BJD vice president Damodar Rout slammed the Centre for neglecting Odisha.

The meeting was attended by all the ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior party leaders.
