Blackbuck Poaching Case: Salman Khan Gets 5 Years In Jail

Jodhpur: The Jodhpur Court, on Thursday, sentenced actor Salman Khan to five years in prison after holding him guilty for killing two blackbucks. His colleagues from the industry Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were acquitted. Another local Dushyant Singh was also acquitted by the Court.

The verdict means the actor will be taken to Central Jail, Jodpur and will be lodged inthere until his bail plea is accepted by Sessions Court. As per information, Salman Khan’s lawyers have already begun the process for bail.

The incident took place in October 1998 while Salman was filming with the aforementioned for the movie “Hum Saath Saath Hain.” He had killed the black bucks in Kankani village in Jodhpur.

The verdict comes almost 20 years after the incident. While the final arguments were settled on March 28, the verdict was reserved for April 5.

All the actors were present at the time of judgement pronouncement. Salman’s sisters Arpita and Alvira were also present in the Court room.

The quantum of punishment is expected to be out soon.

On the fateful night, Salman was driving other cast of the movie in a Gypsy, when he noted a herd of black bucks and killed two of them.
