CPC Corporation Of Taiwan Proposes To Set Up Rs 43,000 Cr Project In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A Taiwanese delegation led by CPC Corporation president Shun-Chin Lee met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat on Thursday to discuss the investment of Rs 43,000 crore to build a petrochemical cracker unit in Paradip.

Welcoming the proposal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the project will help in setting up petroleum downstream industries in Paradip.

“A high-level task force, headed by the Chief Secretary will be formed to provide necessary assistance for the proposed project,” the Chief Minister informed.

He also said Odisha has enough opportunities to set up industries. Odisha has also been among the top three states in live manufacturing investment and project implementation. As per the state’s Industrial Development Plan- 2025, chemical and petrochemical are among the top six focus sectors, he added.

“We will provide good environment for business, infrastructure and human resources for the development of this sector,” said the Chief Minister.

Business partnership and cooperation between Odisha and Taiwan will be strong in the future, he hoped.

Company president Lee informed about the proposed project on the occasion.

State Industry Minister Ananta Das, Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner were among the others present.
