Daily bus service to malnutrition-Hit Nagada launched

Jajpur: To improve transportation facility in remote villages of Jajpur district, the state government on Friday launched bus service to malnutrition-hit Nagada.
Jajpur collector Ranjan Kumar Das and lukinda MLA Priti Ranjan Ghadai flagged off the daily bus service at Danagadi. It will ply between Chandikhol and Nagada via Sukinda and the Kalinganagar Industrial area.
The collector said though the road construction work had finished six months ago, there was no bus for Nagada and other remote places.
“Tribals of Nagada residing atop the hills will benefit as they can now commute to other parts like Jajpur, Chandikhol and Bhubaneswar and sale their produce at these places. The state government has invested Rs 20 crore for improvement of road connectivity to Nagada,” said Ghadai.
Notably, the government has been launching several schemes and programmes for Nagada to improve living conditions of the tribals after it hogged the headlines last year following death of 19 children due to malnutrition.
