DGP Launches Dashboard System For Monitoring Crime

Cuttack: To monitor criminal cases in a more effective manner, Director General of Police (DGP) RP Sharma on Saturday launched the Dashboard System at the state police headquarters here.

“The facility integrates Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) programme which is under implementation to make available necessary information to senior police officers at the click of a button. It will also help the senior officials to review the performance of all police stations while sitting at office and monitor investigation of cases as well as performance of the investigating officers,” the DGP informed.

With the introduction of such facility, the district SPs will also get the ‘Daily Crime Digest’ on the monitor of their computers and have the details of all cognizable cases registered in the past 24 hours. Besides, there would be a better mechanism in place to review the
investigating officials’ performances, special report cases, accident cases, etc.

All the district SPs and senior police officers were present on the occasion. They will also be able to see the performance of the police stations on e-grievance portal, citizen services, missing persons and pending verification under the Right to Public Service Act.

Apart from these, manipulation of data can be largely avoided as there will be better integrity of the same.
