Electrician Electrocuted While Fixing Transformer Fuse In Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: An electrician was electrocuted to death while fixing a fuse in a power transformer at Rengali village in Jharsuguda district on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Kanhu Charan Sahu (30). He was a native of Saria in Chhattisgarh. He was working as a contractual worker for an outsourcing agency.

The incident occurred when Kanhu was carrying out maintenance work at a transformer in Rengali village after receiving a power cut complaint. Suddenly, current gushed through the live wire and Sahu was glued to the electrical equipment following which he was charred to death.

Notably, before fixing the fuse in the transformer, he had informed the Panchagaan substation office. But someone connected electricity to the transformer, leading to the accident.

Meanwhile, the locals blocked the road demanding compensation for the bereaved family.

On being informed, the Rengali police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident.
