Girls Outshine Boys In ICSE, ISC Exams

Bhubaneswar: The girls have outscored boys in the annual ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Class X and ISC (Indian School Certificate) Class XII examinations, conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), results of which were declared on Monday.

The pass percentage of girls in ICSE examination is 98.95 as against 98.15 of the boys. In ISC examination, the girls have a pass percentage of 97.63 and the boys, 94.96.

The overall pass results for ICSE and ISC examinations is 98.51 percent and 96.21 percent respectively.

Swayam Das from Mumbai has emerged as the all-India Class 10 topper with 99.40 percent.

Students can know their results from the CISCE portal www.cisce.org and www.results.cisce.org

For results through SMSes, candidates will have to type ICSE or ISC followed by their seven-digit unique ID code and send the message to 09248082883.

For re-verification of papers, students can apply through www.cisce.org between May 14 and 21.

The council also said the pass marks for the ICSE examination will now be 33% instead of 35% and ISC students will have to score 35% marks instead of 40% to be declared successful.

Over 16 lakh students had appeared for Class X examination and 10,88,891 for Class XII examination.

About 10,000 students from Odisha had appeared for the ICSE and ICE examinations.

The ISC examination had begun from February 7 and ended on April 2 while the ICSE examination was held between February 26 and March 28.
