Hockey Champions Trophy: India Crushes Pakistan 4-0 In Opening Match

Netherlands: India penned an impressive win over Pakistan with the scorecard reading 4-0 in the opening match of Rabobank Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy at Breda in the Netherlands on Saturday.

Hockey India congratulated the players on twitter.

Players Ramandeep Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Lalit Upadhyay scored for India, outclassing arch-rivals Pakistan.

Loud cheer followed the first two goals scored by Ramandeep Singh in 25th minute and Dilpreet in 54th minute.

Mandeep sliding deflection by taking advantage of the absence of the goalkeeper, as Pakistan removed him and brought on an attacking player looking to score, earned India the third goal.

Lalit dived to tap the ball to improve the scoreline just before the final whistle.

In the third quarter, Pakistan was denied a goal as they stick-checked Hamanpreet Singh.

This was the 173rd face-off between India and Pakistan. India will play against Argentina tomorrow. Here’s the schedule.
