IIT Bhubaneswar Students’ Brush With City Heritage At Udaygiri Caves

Bhubaneswar: Udaygiri caves was bustling this Saturday morning with 100 enthusiastic IIT Bhubaneswar freshers, who came down to explore the Twin Hills famous for their Jain heritage.

It was their first exposure to the city and its heritage. They were overwhelmed by the legends of Emperor Kharavela and the ancient stone etchings.

The highlight of the 77th Monks, Caves and Kings heritage tour was a student, Tanmay Khobe, who inverted his umbrella and started collecting the trash lying around. Others too, joined him to make the place litter-free.

The heritage tour of Khandagiri and Udayagiri takes place every Saturday morning and the Temple Walk at the Old Town area every Sunday morning at 6.30 am respectively. Sunday’s afternoon walk at the Crafts Museum, Kala Bhoomi near Gandamunda starts at 3.30 pm.
