Puri: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Gadabhingura village under Sadar police limits in Puri district on Thursday.
The deceased identified as Santanu Patra reportedly had some dispute with his wife.
Police have registered a case and started investigation basing on a complaint lodged by Santanu’s mother.
In another incident, a woman and her two daughters attempted to commit suicide at Sadangipalli near Aska in Ganjam district. The trio was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition.
According to locals, the victims tried to kill self by consuming poison over a family dispute.
