Rayagada: A Maoist poster surfaced at Chatikana village near Bissam Cuttack in Rayagada district on Saturday morning.
The poster was reportedly issued by CPI Maoists. It warned police to stop arresting tribal people in Niyamgiri by branding them as Maoists.
The poster also sought the immediate release of jailed rebel leader Sikun Sikaka of Mayabali village.
The Maoists also requested people living in the Niyamgiri hill area to safeguard the place.
Locals spotted the poster in the morning and informed police.
