Men’s World Cup Hockey: Odisha CM To Attend Meeting In New Delhi Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the 14th Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled to kick off at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from November 28 this year, the Odisha government has begun exercise for a massive propagation for the mega event.

As part of its exercise, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik left for New Delhi in the afternoon on Wednesday on a four-day visit to attend a meeting in this connection on the next day.

The meeting will begin at a five-star hotel ‘The LaLit’ at 12 PM.

Among others, president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra, former International and Olympic hockey stars of India Dillip Tirkey, Viren Wilfred Rasquinha (former Indian Men’s Hockey team captain) and Dhanraj Pillay will attend the meeting.

Besides, players of national men’s and women’s hockey team will also be present at the meeting, the sources added.

The mega sporting event being hosted in Odisha for the first time will conclude on December 16.

To meet the international standards as specified by the FIH, the state government has carried out necessary infrastructure development in Kalinga Stadium.
