Kendrapara: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped from Rajnagar area in Kendrapara and forced into prostitution before being rescued from Balasore district on Friday.
Sources said the girl’s father had lodged a missing complaint at Talachua Marine police station on June 30. The rescued girl alleged that she was abducted by a woman in her neighbourhood who took her to a house in Balasore.
There, the woman’s husband allegedly raped the girl and forced her into prostitution.
But the girl managed to call her neighbours, the sources said. On being informed, the girl’s father and the police reached the spot and rescued the girl. The police have sent the girl for medical examination. Further investigations are on.
