Modi Accepts Kohli’s Fitness Challenge, Nominates Kumaraswamy

New Delhi: Accepting cricketer Virat Kohli’s fitness challenge, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his video performing a series of morning exercises.

In the clip, Modi can be seen performing various yoga asanas, stretches, breathing exercises and is also seen walking on tracks ‘inspired by the five elements of nature.’ Modi went on to nominate Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy for the challenge.

The PM’s tweet read, “Here are moments from my morning exercise routine. Apart from yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the panchtatvas or the five elements of nature – prithvi, jal, agni, vayu, aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises. #HumFitTohIndiaFit”

Tennis player Monika Batra and the entire fraternity of brave Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, especially those above 40, are the others in the list of people challenged by the PM in his tweet, which said:.

“I am delighted to nominate the following for the #FitnessChallenge: Karnataka’s CM Shri @hd_kumaraswamy. Karnataka’s CM Shri @hd_kumaraswamy. India’s pride and among the highest medal winners for India in the 2018 CWG, @manikabatra_TT. The entire fraternity of brave IPS officers, especially those above 40.”

Interestingly, in his reply, Kumaraswamy tweeted, “Dear @narendramodi ji I am honoured & thankU very much for d concern about my health. I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all & support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state & seek ur support for it.”

The PM had accepted Kohli’s fitness challenge last month. The challenge had started with sports minister Rajyavardjan Singh Rathore’s fitness campaign on twitter.
