Nurse Murder Case: Police To Conduct DNA Test Of Victim’s Parents

Jagatsinghpur: The Odisha Police, which is investigating the murder of Niharika Patra, a nurse, whose body was recovered from the Biluakhai riverbed under Biridi police limits in Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday, has decided to conduct the DNA test of the parents of the deceased.

Informing this to the media on Thursday, SDPO, Jagatsinghpur, Prakash Singh Pal said the police are tracking the call records from the victim’s mobile phone and her boyfriend Kishore Chandra Anchal. “We have intensified the investigation and the accused will be arrested very soon,” he added.

Though the police have detained Kishore and five other persons including his father for interrogation, they are yet to establish their complicity in the murder case.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the BJP Mahila Morcha led by its president Pravati Parida along with Lekhashree Samantasinghar, Surama Padhi Kusum Tete went to the victim’s house at Bhingarpur village in Balianta block on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar this afternoon and met the family members.

Talking to mediapersons later, Parida said that the BJP Mahila Mahila Morcha has told the police to arrest the accused within 24 hours failing which the Morcha will stage a statewide agitation
