Nursing Staff Launch Indefinite Stir

Bhubaneswar: Over 2,000 nursing staff from across the state launched
an indefinite strike on Monday by sitting in dharna at Lower PMG here
seeking regularisation of their jobs on Monday.

“The nursing employees have been working under National Health Mission
and other healthcare projects in the state since 18 years. We demand
regularisation of jobs for those who have worked for more than six
years, enhancement of basic pay and grade pay of Rs 4, 600”, Odisha
Nursing Employees’ Association general secretary Pravati Mohanty said,
adding that the Chief Minister should immediately intervene and
instruct the officials concerned to resolve our issues.

The association will continue its strike till the demands are met,
Mohanty added.
