Bhubaneswar: The body of a girl was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room under mysterious circumstances at Unit-VIII here on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sania Banerjee, a second year student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at DAV School of Business Management.
The hostel authorities rushed her to Capital Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police have recovered a suicide note from the girl’s room and started investigation into the case.
Sania’s body was sent for post-mortem and her parents,
who reside in Talcher were informed about the incident. While police suspect it to be a case of suicide, Sania’s mother alleged it was a “well-planned murder”. Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan, who visited the hospital, demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident.
