Odisha Records 19.3% Surplus Cumulative Average Rainfall

Bhubaneswar: With the southeast monsoon finally leaving Odisha with the cyclonic storm Titli, the cumulative average rainfall in the state from June 1 till October 14 this year has come to a surplus of 19.3% over the long-term average rainfall.

While 15 districts received surplus rainfall of more than 19%, 15 districts recorded normal rainfall (+19% to -19%) during the period.

Going by the block-wise rainfall, 153 of the total 314 blocks received surplus rainfall of more than 19%, 134 blocks normal rainfall (+19% to -19%), 23 blocks recorded deficit rainfall (shortfall of >19% up to 39%) and 4 blocks received severe deficit rainfall (shortfall of >39% up to 59%) during the period.

However, there has been no deficit rainfall, severe deficit rainfall and scanty rainfall in any district during the period.
