Ollywood Actor Udayan Aparajeet Opens Film School In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Now, Odisha capital can boast of a film school. Tuesday saw the inauguration of Yashaswi Film School at Jayadev Vihar here.

The institute has been founded by Ollywood actor and technician Udayan Aparajeet with an aim to hone the skills of aspiring artistes and technicians. “I have been working on this dream of mine for the last two years. Being a part of Odia cine industry, I always felt the need for good technicians. Before becoming an actor, I had worked in Odisha and outside as a technician. I want to utilise my expertise and train youngsters who can take up post-production works in films,” he said.

The classes will commence soon, he added.

The institute offers one-year diploma course in film-making and acting. The advance film making course includes the complete process of scripting to screening in the field of animation. There will be short-term courses in anchoring, voice-over, acting, digital media marketing, graphics design and editing, among others.

While inaugurating the institute actor-turned-MLA Akash Das Nayak said, “I know Udayan for quite a long time. I am glad that he took the effort to open a film school which was missing in Odisha. This will help in shaping future technicians and artiste. Training in acting can also hone skills.”

Appreciating the initiative, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra said, “I will try my best for government support to the institute. I wish all the success for the novel project”.

An invitee, MP and Founder KIIT Achyuta Samanta, however, could not attend the inauguration.

Udayan started his acting career in Kannada film ‘Khiladi-The Game Changer’ as the male lead in 2015. Trained in martial arts, he worked as a technician in Mumbai and Odisha. His Odia film ‘Badmash Toka’ was released in 2017.
