Ollywood Director Chakradhar Sahu Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: Well-known Ollywood producer and director Chakradhar Sahu passed away at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar in the early morning on Wednesday.

A rheumatoid arthritis patient, Sahu was admitted to the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and later shifted to AMRI Hospital a couple of days ago after he had a breathing problem.

He was again referred to the AIIMS on Tuesday and kept on ventilator. However, he passed away at 5:40 AM family sources said.

A graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTTI), Pune, Sahu had begun his career in Odia film making with a movie ‘Nila Mastrani’, in 1996 which had won him the Odisha State Film Award as the Best Editor. He received the Best Editor award for his two movies ‘Kebe Tume Naha Kebe Mu Nahin in 2011 and ‘Sukha Asuchi’ in 2014.

Sahu was also the recipient of the Odisha State Film Award for Best Director for ‘Tumaku Paruni Ta Bhuli’, released in the year 2007. His last movie ‘Meemansa’ was released in 2016.

The Ollywood fraternity has deeply condoled the sad demise of Sahu.
