Orissa HC Judge Indrajit Mahanty Transferred To Bombay HC

Cuttack: Senior Judge of the Orissa High Court Justice Indrajit Mahanty will join Bombay High Court by November 15.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (I) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the  President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India is pleased to transfer Justice Indrajit  Mahanty, Judge of the Orissa High Court, as a Judge of the Bombay High Court and to direct him to  assume charge of his office in the Bombay High Court on or before November 13, 2018,” said a notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Born on November 11, 1960, Justice Mahanty did his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, and a Master in Laws (LLM) from the University of Cambridge, UK.
He enrolled as an advocate with the Odisha State Bar Council in 1984.
Justice Mahanty was the member of the Bar Council of India from 1998 to 2003 and worked as its managing trustee in 2003.
Currently, he is a member of the Odisha State Bar Council, Orissa High Court Bar Association, Supreme Court Bar Association and the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.
