OTET Question Paper ‘Leaked’ On Social Media, Exam Cancelled

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Wednesday cancelled the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) after question paper of the first sitting went viral.

Besides, the question paper for the second sitting of the test uploaded on the social media was also found to be authentic.

The Board took the decision after students, appearing the first sitting, told the media that those uploaded on the social media were same as the original question paper.

The incident came to light when the question paper of the first sitting went viral between 7 am and 8 am.

Talking to the mediapersons, BSE president Dr Jahan Ara Begum said that the Board will soon announce the next date for the test.

“We are informing the centre superintendents through the media that they should not open the question paper sets for the second sitting and return the question papers to the Board office here,” the BSE president said.

For the first time, the OTET examination was held in two sittings. While the first sitting was held from 10 am to 12.30 pm, the second sitting was scheduled from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

About 1.12 lakh students had appeared the test at 250 centres in the state.
