Jharsuguda: A Plus II student died and another was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding van at BTM Chhak in Jhrasuguda district on Friday. They were on a two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Singh.
According to sources, the accident took place when Deepak and his friend Bitu Yadav were returning from college. The driver fled leaving the vehicle behind.
Deepak died on the spot. Locals rushed Bitu to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, as his condition deteriorated.
