Puri: A servitor of Puri Jagannath Temple was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a girl and her mother inside the 12th century shrine on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Santosh Kar.
The girl and her mother hailing from Berhampur of Ganjam district were offering prayers to the deities at the Nata Mandap inside the temple when the servitor misbehaved with both of them.
The incident took place when ‘Alata Lagi’ ritual of the deities was being performed.
Basing on a complaint in this regard, Singhadwara police arrested Kar and later forwarded him to court.
