More rain forecast for Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha will continue to witness rain and thundershowers triggered by a well-marked low pressure area formed over the Gangetic plane in West Bengal and adjoining areas of neighbouring Jharkhand, according to the Tuesday bulletin of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
This sounds more trouble for the state government already dealing with the rising water level in several rivers of North odisha. More so since the bulletin hinted at heavy rainfall induced by an upper air cyclonic circulation at one or two places in those districts in the next 24 hours.
The circulation, which extends up to 9.5 km above mean sea level, could result in strong gusty surface wind from the westerly direction, reaching 45-55 KMPH and gusting to 65 KMPH off the Odisha coast.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea, which would remain rough to very rough during the upper air cyclonic circulation.
