Rain Likely In Odisha From Tonight

Bhubaneswar: Interior and northern districts of Odisha may experience light rainfall with possibility of thunderstorm from Monday night following movement of an upper air westerly trough towards Odisha-West Bengal coast.

In a bulletin issued by Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of the SOA Deemed University here, the districts likely to experience rainfall are Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh and Sonepur.

“The low pressure formed over the South Andaman Sea is likely to intensify further in the next 72 hours and move towards Tamilnadu-Andhra Pradesh coast. It may head towards Odisha after crossing the coast, triggering moderate to heavy rainfall in the southern districts of Odisha, including the coastal region comprising Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Ganjam districts on December 15 and 16,” it said.

The districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Angul and Dhenkanal may experience light to moderate rainfall between December 15 and 17, it added.
