Realme 2 Launched; 4230mAh Battery & Notch Display

New Delhi: Oppo launched the second phone of its sub-brand Realme on Tuesday. The new phone, Realme 2, is the successor to the Realme 1 which hit the market earlier this year.

The Realme 2 has a 19:9, 6.2 inch HD+ screen with a notch and has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.8 per cent. It has a 4,230mAh battery that promises to last long. It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM configurations, along with 32GB and 64GB internal storage.

Powering the Realme 2 is the Snapdragon 450 SoC which is similar to the one of the Moto G6 but falls slightly short when compared to phones from Xiaomi and Asus. Unlike the Realme 1, this phone has fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock.

The Realme 2 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 like other Oppo phones.

The Realme 2 has a dual camera setup in the rear. The primary is a 13-MP sensor with f/2.2 and the secondary unit is a 2-MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is a 8-MP f/2.2 with wide-angle lens. It has AI support and beautification functions.

It measures 156.2×75.6×8.2mm and weighs 168 grams.

The Realme 2 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 8,990. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage costs Rs 10,990. It will be available on Flipkart from September 4. The colours available are Diamond Black and Diamond Red.

There is a Rs 750 discount on HDFC Bank credit and debit card purchases and up to 120GB additional data and benefits worth up to Rs. 4,200 from Reliance Jio as part of the launch offer. There are no-cost EMI options too.

Oppo also announced that the next model Realme 2 Pro will be launched in September this year.
