Security Tightened In Bhubaneswar Ahead Of Vice President’s Visit

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the upcoming visit of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. He will be in Odisha capital to attend the first annual convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on August 25.

Talking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said 25 platoons of the police force would be deployed while more than 80 officers would monitor the security arrangements, which have been made according to the Blue Book guidelines.

“We have reviewed security arrangements at the airport, Raj Bhawan and AIIMS. The duration of the Vice President’s will be around five hours. According to the tour itinerary, after arriving at the airport, the Vice President will proceed to Raj Bhawan. After staying there for some time, he will proceed to AIIMS to attend its first annual convocation. From there, he would arrive at the airport and leave for New Delhi,” Mohanty added.
