Rourkela: Sundargarh SP Saumya Mishra came to the rescue of an accident victim and carried him to hospital in her official vehicle.
According to sources, the SP spotted a cyclist in a pool of blood on Biju Expressway at Kutra in Sundargarh district while she was on her way to Rajgangpur to check law and order on the occasion of Muharram on Tuesday.
She stopped at the spot and took the victim, identified as Rajendra Kisapeta, to hospital. He had sustained critical injuries in his head after being hit by a motorcycle. The cops used a police jacket as stretcher to carry him to the vehicle.
Rajendra was admitted to the Kutra hospital and later shifted to the Rajgangpur hospital as his condition deteriorated. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The two bikers too were admitted to Kutra hospital in a critical condition. They have been identified as Pradeep Singh and Bhim.
The SP was recently in news for allegedly causing miscarriage without a woman’s consent. A case was registered against her on the order of the Sundargarh sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM).
