Bhubaneswar: The State Police has made elaborate security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on Monday.
IG, Central Range, Soumendra Priyadarshi told the media that a total of 45 platoons of the armed police force would be deployed during the visit of the Prime Minister.
“For proper monitoring of the security, four officers in the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), 10 Additional Superintendents of Police (ASPs) and 30 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) will be on duty,” he added.
As the Prime Minister will also address a public meeting near the Barunei hill on the outskirts of Khurda, the entire hill area would be cordoned off by the Special Forces, he said.
Besides, five places have been identified for the parking of vehicles to ensure smooth traffic movement, he pointed out.
No one will be allowed to carry water pouch and water bottle to the meeting venue.
According to the schedule, Prime Minister will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 1.05 pm. From there, he will leave for the new campus of IIT-Bhubaneswar at Aragul by road at 1.40 pm. He will then lay the foundation stones of several projects and dedicate other projects through video conferencing between 1.40 pm and 2.20 pm.
The Prime Minister will reach NISER (National Institute of Science Education and Research) stadium at 2.30 pm and address a public meeting. He will leave the stadium at 3.15 pm and arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport and leave for New Delhi at 4 pm.
