Witness The Thrill, Zeal And Fire Of Surgical Strike In Vicky Kaushal’s Next, ‘URI’

New Delhi: Revisiting the chronicles of Indian Army’s surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC), movie ‘Uri’ had its teaser released on Friday, on the second anniversary of the military operation, commemorated as Parakram Parv.

The teaser begins with a bird eye’s view of the attack carried out by the terrorists on the 12 Infantry Headquarters in Uri, that had left 19 soldiers dead on September 18, 2016.

A stern and strong Vicky Kaushal is next seen leading a group of paratroopers for a surgical strikes on terror launchpads across the LoC. There are shots of families sobbing and mourning the death of the soldiers, with pride in their eyes.

In the background, Paresh Rawal describes the new-age attitude of India. “Yeh naya Hindustan hai. yeh Hindustan ghar mein ghusega bhi, maarega bhi (This is the new India, it will not only enter the house of its enemies but will kill them, too),” he says.

The film is brimming with patriotism and the is sure to give you chills. Vicky, who had earlier enacted a Pakistani major in Raazi opposite Alia Bhatt, is ready to give us another dose of his brilliant acting skills.

The actor had earlier said that he trained extensively five hours every day for this character. “There is three to four hours of military training, you get to enhance your stamina, go through obstacle training, you are slithering. I am receiving gun training now,” he had told PTI.

He would go to the gym and train at the naval base in Cuffe Parade (in Mumbai), he added. “Army men are helping me with the training. I have to gain some weight and I am looking forward to the shoot,” he said.

His last movie, ‘Manmarziyaan’, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu had done well at the box office.

Uri directed by Aditya Dhar also stars Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer and will hit the theatres on January 11, 2019.
