Woman Kills Daughter, Neighbour In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Police on Monday arrested a tribal woman for strangulated her four-year-old daughter after killing her neighbour in Baikunthapur village under Baria police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday.
According to police, the accused Laxmi Juang of the village had gone to take a bath to the river in the morning where she had a quarrel with her neighbour Damuni Munda. In a fit of rage, Laxmi caught her throat and forcibly the put her head under the water. After killing her, she went back to her house and strangulated her four-year-old daughter Srabani as she was crying aloud.
“Following information, a team of Baria police station led by the OIC rushed to the village and arrested her. The accused was forwarded to the court this morning,” DSP, District Intelligence Bureau, Harish Pandey told mediapersons here.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the two deceased have been sent for postmortem.
