Puri: The body of a youth was recovered from a drain near government ITI, Penthakata under sea beach police station limits in Puri district on Sunday.
The identify of the person is yet to be established.
According to available information, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police Debadutta Pradhan found a large number of people gathered at the drain. Upon reaching the spot, Pradhan saw the body wrapped in a bedsheet. Following which he alerted the local police about the same.
The body was seized and sent for post mortem to the district headquarters hospital.
Though the exact reason behind the youth’s death is yet to be known, police and locals suspect that the youth has been murdered over past enmity and dumped in the drain.
