Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary A P Padhi on Saturday launched an online public service portal that makes it convenient to apply and download marksheets, migration certificates, duplicate/provisional copies, verification certificates and other documents of Universities and Board of Secondary Education.
The portal ‘lokseba.odisha.in’ will help denizens avail online services without physically going to any office. The state government is also planning to link the services with government dues payment system to eliminate the need to go and stand in a queue for clearing the fees and dues.
Six public services of School and Mass Education department and two of the Higher Education department are currently available on the portal, said Principal Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance, Ashok Meena.
There are also plans to digitise old certificates and store them in a digital locker system, informed Principal Secretary of School and Mass Education, Pradeepta Kumar Mohapatra.
“To get certificates, the students have to generate their own user-id and password to log in to the website. Then they can apply for the certificates. Following this they will get an auto generated pass word on their cell phone. After authentication, the applicant would get instructions to download the certificate,” he said.
Till now, 88 public services of various departments have been made online.
