Gita Mehta Visits Anand Bhawan Museum Ahead Of Prez Trip

Cuttack: Gita Mehta, noted author and daughter of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, reviewed preparations at Anand Bhawan Museum in Cuttack, days ahead of its scheduled inauguration by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Anand Bhawan, the ancestral home of the Patnaiks, has been converted into a museum-cum-library after the family donated the building to the state.

It will be officially inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on March 17. Gita spent close to 45 minutes and took stock of the arrangements.

The house was constructed by Biju Patnaik’s father. Biju shifted to Bhubaneswar after joining politics.

Gita, who co-owned the property along with her brothers Naveen and Prem Patnaik, had given away their rights of the house to the State Government in 2015.
