Bhawanipatna: Forest officials have seized a huge quantity of Siris wood at Padepadar village under Thuamul Rampur block in Kalahandi district.
Two persons identified as Sundar Singh and Sashidhar Nayak were arrested in connection with the seizure.
According to sources, a team of forest personnel raided the house of Sundar Singh late in Friday and recovered 30 pieces of Siris wood from the spot.
“The seized wood is being measured to ascertain its value and further investigation into the matter is underway,” informed forest conservator, Bhawanipatna forest division, Siba Prasad Rath.
