Jajpur Students Send Rakhis To ‘Brother’ Jawans At Border Posts

Jajpur:  Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, girl students of Chitola College in Jajpur district have sent rakhis to soldiers posted at various border posts in the country.

The students sent the rakhis by post to celebrate the festival in a unique manner.

In keeping with the tradition of sisters tying rakhis for the safety of their brothers, the girls said they wished the same for their “brothers” manning the border posts.

“The jawans cannot celebrate the day with their family members because of their duty towards ensuring the security of the country. They will feel special on that day after receiving the rakhis,” they said.

The people of Jajpur have also appreciated this unique initiative by the Chitola College students.

This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 15.
