Odisha CM Dedicates 19.50 MLD Drinking Water Project To Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated “Augmentation of Water Supply to Bargarh Municipality” through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday.

The 19.50 million litres capacity drinking water project, launched by Naveen, will benefit 1.10 lakh people of the city for the next 15 years. The state government has invested a total of Rs 37.23 crore in this drinking water project.

Water for the project has been brought from the west canal of Baragarh. The project consists of a 15 MLD water treatment plant, 12.80 km raw water pipeline, 67.44 km distribution system, four elevated service reservoirs having a capacity of 4.15 ML and four ground level service reservoirs having a capacity 1.85 ML, mentioned a press note.

This project comes under the state Government’s Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Drinking Water To All Habitation’ (Basudha) scheme and it has been named Augmentation of Water Supply to Bargarh Municipality.

This project will solve the water problem of Bargarh city.

Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari, MP Prasanna Acharya, Lok Sabha MP Prabhat Singh and MLA Debesh Mishra were present, among others in the meeting.
