Two Students Die, One Injured As Truck Rams Into Bike On Bhubaneswar Overbridge

Bhubaneswar: Two students were killed and another critically injured after a speeding truck rammed into their bike on the Nayapalli overbridge here on Saturday.

The students had appeared for their Plus II annual examination this year.

One of the deceased, identified as Chandrasura, was the only son of senior journalist and editor of KNews Himanshu Pati Mishra.

Identities of the other deceased and the injured student are yet to be ascertained.

Sources said the three students were travelling on a motorcycle when the truck rammed into their bike on the over-bridge. Two students died on the spot and another sustained critical injuries. The injured student was rushed to a private hospital and then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The truck driver managed to flee the spot, leaving the vehicle behind. On being informed, the police reached the spot and seized the truck. Investigations are on.
