Watch: Bharat Bandh Cripples Life In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Life came to a standstill in the Odisha capital following the nine-hour bandh call by the since Monday morning, protesting against rising fuel price.

 Business establishments, schools and educational institutions remained closed, while public transport was crippled. Passengers were left stranded in railway stations and bus stands.

In Bhubaneswar, the Congress activists picketed at Master Canteen Square, Vani Vihar Square and Satsang Vihar Square. The CPM activists staged a road blockade at Acharya Vihar Square. Several passengers were seen waiting at the Baramunda Bus Stand complex.

OPCC Chairman Niranjan Patnaik sat on protest in front of Congress Bhawan with other leaders of the party.

In view of the bandh, the vice-chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) cancelled the examinations.

The bandh is being observed from 6 am to 3 pm.
